Full Disclosure…..Joyce is my mom. I bought a house in Fort Wayne, Indiana and while she wasn’t the Realtor I have to give her credit for finding it. She called me one day after I had been looking at houses with my Realtor here and wanted me to look at a house she had found on the internet. I bought it. Several months after I bought it, she came here and helped me decorate. If any of you are curious or have any doubts about my mother’s decorating ability let me tell you this. My friends threw a house warming party after it was all nice and decorated. I was the last one to arrive and there were many people packed into my house….some that I didn’t even know or recognize. I noticed that a few ladies were gathered around and seemed to be talking about me and finally one of them came up to me and asked me if I was the owner of this house. One of them told me that my house was beautiful and wondered if I had decorated it. When my husband and I decided it was time to purchase our first home the obvious choice was to have Joyce as our agent. Joyce helped me work thru the paperwork and I was able to obtain some of my money back but not all of it. I couldn’t have done it without her. She was compassionate and caring. Just want to say that we really appreciate all the work you went through to help us buy our very first home. It was a cute little ranch, nestled in the trees just as you came into Waynesboro. You were very patient with us as we looked at place after place. Then we went back to the very first one and bought it. You also gave us a house warming gift, which we still have.
Then six years later you helped us sell that house in one of the worst markets around. It took over a year to get it done, but you kept working, and finally the phone call came. IT’S SOLD. Yeah, we couldn’t believe it. Just want to say, ” thank you”, for all the effort that you put in on both ends; buying, and selling the house. Thanks Joyce for being there through several purchases and one sell for us. We have found that what you told us is exactly how things turned out, be it bad or good. When we sold our home we had more then a few issues with the purchasers mortgage company, you found out the answers, backed us up when we were told we would have to pay more for closing than we agreed, stood your ground for us even after we said we would just go ahead and pay the extra.
We also trusted your judgment in making purchases for our new home without either of us being there. Moving day, rain was falling, you helped to dry the furniture off, put it in place, hang the pictures, hung curtains…. Pam walked in from work to find it all done. You were right also about the color of paint for the kitchen. We love it!

Having the same last name as ours, and knowing there were family connections still in the area, we decided to ask her to help us find a house. We not only got one great Real Estate Agent, but also got a great and life long friend.
Since then we moved to Florida and back to Virginia, but to a different area temporarily. We are planning to relocate to the valley again and very definitely will have Joyce as our agent again.
Once back home in the valley we will re-establish an annual custom we had with Joyce, celebrating her birthday at our house with one of her favorite meals, chicken and dumplings.

When we walked in and found out the fireplace was not the size or design I planned, she immediately called the builder, met him there and when he said it was the way they always had done them, she took him to her townhouse and showed him that he was incorrect, and I got the fireplace I wanted. She also saw that the sink and commode was not spaced correctly in the master bath, and once again had the builder make the proper change….if you are looking for a realtor to be there for you, it would be Joyce!
